No commute necessary.
From their home office in a sleepy village in southern France, MyWebSpinners use video calling and instant messaging to keep in touch with clients and colleagues all over the world.
Since making the lifestyle move five years ago, MyWebSpinners works with clients as far away as Australia and Slovenia, plus manages a team of programmers based in India via all-day instant messaging – none of which would have been possible without Skype.
“There is no way we as a small business could afford to fly to Slovenia, London, Australia, for a face-to-face meeting. Now we meet via the internet using Skype,” says Client Services Director, Alex Charles. “It has effectively made our business possible.”
Online numbers in the UK and France also make it easy – and affordable – for people without Skype to give them a call. Potential customers in those countries can dial a local number from their phone or mobile and MyWebSpinners answer in Skype.
They're working smarter, too.
Skype also gives MyWebSpinners the security of knowing when a file has been received – and instant messaging ensures a clear written message trail.
Each conversation history shows who has sent and received files, and when they were opened leaving no room for dispute. “If you really want to make sure someone’s got something, send it in Skype,” Alex says.
