An international company united by Skype.
Kukuxumusu is a thriving design business in Pamplona, Spain. They design commercial products – t-shirts, postcards, ceramics, key-holders, bags. In 1996 Kukuxumusu opened its first shop. In 1997, its online store. They now have 65 employees. Including one in a cow suit.
Kukuxumusu uses free video calls to talk with colleagues, clients and suppliers around the world. Founder and Creative Director Mikel is based in New York. The team video calls Mikel to share ideas and show him product designs. “Skype video calling allows you to show things to people very quickly,” says Mikel, “the clarity you get with the webcam is incredible; the definition that you get talking to your colleagues in real time is perfect.”
Every department uses Skype to instant message and contact colleagues, clients and suppliers abroad for free. They send files over Skype in a flash. It means everyone on a conference call has the right document in front of them. Always a good start.
Using Skype, Kukuxumusu has saved money. Mikel says: “For us, it is much cheaper to use Skype Credit to call abroad.”
Without Skype, Kukuxumusu wouldn’t be able to stay in touch with their contacts around the globe as easily and as frequently as they do. Video and conference calling have allowed them to build stronger relationships with fellow workers, clients and suppliers. As Mikel says, Kukuxumusu has been “united by Skype”. That makes us very proud.
